v3.a1

2010 is a year many will remember as being the time that the world stood still. It was the time when as the last of the fossil fuel and oil resources dried out. The world was faced with a dark future as crime and murder began ran rampant. While the rich strove to ensure they're own private fossil fuel supplies , the rest of the world suffered a wretched existence of no transport and unemployment. In the crumbling social infrastructure, a life of crime was the only viable means of supporting a family. Crime escalated throughout the world, with once superpower economies crumbling under the ghastly shortage of every-day necessities. Sordid political activities gave rise of corruption; leaving the country's army defence forces stretched to breaking point. Read More..

Models galore! 20th August

Well our silence has been broken what's new?, you may ask well allot infact.

So firstly a very needed and due face lift for our site, with a domain change and host move to boot.
You can keep up to date with all the goings on at our new domain www.dark-source.com and out new forums at www.forums.dark-source.com.

Like our new logo, big thanks to Craig Lewis over at game-artist.net who designed and allowed us to use it.

Now for news about the actual mod, we have moved to episodic content the task of making dark source a full mod will take years, and we would really like to get you some playable material so us focusing on episodic content allows us to streamline the development per episode.

On the content front we have a series of models from our art department including a amazing set of hands by B11.

Mapping has come to a bit of a standstill as its final year for our mappers, expect updates from them in the coming months.

Also we would like to wish ourselves a happy 2nd birthday, we are happy to still be alive and kicking after 2 years.
On a final note if you like skinning and UVing models we are in desperate need of a skinner so if your interested please don't hesitate to apply.

Regards
Dark Source Dev Team

March comes but once a year! 23rd March

…And before we know it, the month of March is upon us! And it aint going to take too much speculation as to what this is going to mean as far as Dark Source is concerned… But of course! Yet another incredibly stimulating news and media release from the DS Team!!!

Yes, we know it isn’t the start of March! Yes, we know our news posts have a lovable unorthodox approach in bringing you up to speed! But I digress… Work has surged ahead since our last update! Maps take form, orchestral marvels are composed and renders are… well…. rendered.

In short, the DS gremlins have been happily churning out another tonne and a half of media, concept art and some very sexy screenies for your viewing pleasure. So here it is… The Dark Source March Media/News Release! (* 50 cent surcharge involved for every screenie viewed…)

As promised we will continue our monthly updates in order to keep the community informed. Expect to see continued monthly releases throughout 2007

Now to the media.

Keep a eye out it gets better.

January Update 3rd January

A big hello and Happy New year to all fellow ModDB-ers, fans and affiliates. Despite some ludicrous postings in our profile that deem our Dark Source “dead” (we were as confused as you are), we felt somewhat obliged to let you in on some of the incredibly sensual goings-on that have been accomplished behind the scenes of the past year. Not to mention that we are practically bursting with anticipation to show you what we’ve been churning out! We do apologize for the lack of media releases and new posts detailing our progress, but we strongly believe in posting something decent and lengthy only when the time is right.

Having been in development for just over a year now, and this, we hope, is testament to the dedication and passion that the DS Dev Team constantly maintains. No matter how long it takes you’re going to wind up with a fantastic product.
Read on for the updates!

NEW MEMBERS:

You lose some…. You gain some. In this case, the change was for the better! This year, we welcomed to the team some great folks. In this news post, we would like to officially welcome the following additions to the DS Dev Team.

A NEW MEMBER: Jman applied this month as a animator, mapper and coder, he has already compiled 3 weapons in game, a true asset to the team.

A NEW MODELER: Joining our ranks as a modeler is the very talented swift_striker you can see two of his models in the newest media release.

NEW MAPPERS
: We welcomed two new comers into this capacity; these being Rocket_Robinhood and Shr3d. Both of these guys hail from previous projects, bring with them some excellent experience and talent. You will be seeing some of their work VERY shortly…

A NEW COMPOSER: david Orrick has gained reputable experience in film and TV as well as publishing some solo material, it was an absolute no-brainer recruiting this guy on the team. DS is primarily horror based, so good music and quality ambiences will play a big role. Despite the fact that he’s a Pom, we have already received some fantastic material from this guy.

Now to the media.
